I've been a stamp collector for 40+ years. I started as a boy of 10, gave up collecting for a number of years, and resumed my interest in stamps in my 30s. I gave up trying to complete a U.S. collection several years ago and last year sold my 19th century collection. Since then I have focused my attention on a single stamp, U.S. Scott #65. That's the 3-cent 1861 stamp issued at the start of the civil war. Actually, I collect it and all of its cousins (# 83, #85, #88, #94, etc.). I have gathered a rather nice collection of fancy cancels on this stamp. That's my real passion, fancy cancels, but only on this stamp. I am a member of APS, a member of a stamp club in Sebring, Florida and I am the current president of GSC in Greenville, Michigan.
